About My Artist Name
"Broken Fears" is a compound word consisting of two words with negative connotations that together create a positive, hope-giving meaning.
It reflects my main goal as an artist, which is to encourage people to face and overcome their own fears so they can become the best version of themselves.
Self-exploration, personal growth, and finding love for yourself are very important themes that I address in most of my songs.
I am always looking for new challenges to grow and break musical boundaries by combining Soul's various cultural influences with Pop, Jazz, Gospel, Rock, R&B, Funk, Blues,and Hip Hop elements.
My music, inspired by artists such as Aretha Franklin, Prince, Michael Jackson, Kate Bush, Stevie Wonder, and WAYNE SNOW, is dominated by vocals and piano, the sound is vintage, yet modern at the same time. My music is meant to radiate a glimmer of hope rather than leave the listener in darkness.
Besides singing, I play several instruments. I have very good skills on the piano, and good skills on the guitar, bass guitar and drums, most of which I taught myself.
As an authentic and honest artist, I love being on stage and interacting with my audience. One of my greatest strengths is connecting with my own vulnerability, which helps me communicate with my audience on a deeper level.

My Story
My love for music was sparked at a young age, when I listened a lot to my dad's 80s cassette collection on his old Walkman and played around on my mom's piano. As a child, I loved to sing all day and always had a new melody dancing in my head. I learned a lot by imitating my greatest idols. Later, at the age of 14, I started taking singing lessons for five years.
I also started performing very early. I gained a lot of stage experience with various rock and jazz bands, sang in a choir, but also had several solo performances on various small stages and at my local music school.
In my songwriting style, I have a lot of Jazz and Soul influences. Singing in various Jazz bands, being taught Jazz piano playing, and studying Jazz theory, have greatly influenced my musical style and the way I see music.

From 2020 to 2022 I have been "SVA-/Förderschülerin" in my local music school KMS Potsdam-Mittelmark Engelbert Humperdinck. There, I had Vocal lessons for five years, and Jazz piano, ensemble, choir, classical, and Jazz theory lessons for two years.
I graduated with an "Oberstufenabschluss" (1,2) with contemporary Vocals as the main subject.
Artist Statement
Vulnerability connects us humans with the rest of the world, but most fear it. I want to inspire people to stop hiding behind their masks and show themselves to the world, with all the colors that long to be expressed.
The message I want to convey is that the flame of passion, and the desire for connection, freedom, and the truth must never go out.
I firmly believe that this is exactly why we are here on earth!
What I love about music is that it is a great medium that helps us communicate on a deeper level, it is a great tool to express ourselves freely and connect with ourselves.
